Jazzpågen Leif Ceder berättar om egna besök på klubbar i jazzens huvudstad ”The Big Apple” och guidar oss på en rundvandring bland dessa både i dåtid och nutid. Vi besöker således 30-talets Cotton Club och Savoy Ballroom i Harlem, fortsätter till jazzklubbar på 52nd Street på 40 och 50-talet och hamnar slutligen på dagens jazzklubbar i Greenwich Village. Det blir en historisk exposé i tid och rum.

Filmtime. Med undantag för Billie, Ella, Anita och Sarah var det länge mest instrumentaljazz som gällde för min del. Dock har jag numera bättrats och tycker mig ha funnit en guldgruva med kvinnliga jazzsångare som jag gärna vill dela med mig av. Jag vill gärna behålla spänningen och avslöjar därför inte mina guldklimpar förrän vi ses den 9 november, då jag presenterar en kavalkad med jazzfilmer med dessa damer i ett program i Leif Andersons anda med undertiteln Someting old, something new, something swinging, something blue.
